Weekend Wardrobe: Nothing to Wear

It happens all-to-often to the best of us, right ladies? The Nothing to Wear Blues. Time is spent thumbing through our closets with nothing that strikes a fancy. Denim seems dull and frocks are simply a failure.
Whether you’re an international jet-setter, 9-to-5 fashionista or stay-at-home Mom, all women should have wardrobe essentials they can pull out at the drop of a hat (or an overslept alarm).
I’ve learned to dodge “nothing to wear” days by investing in clothes that can be worn multiple ways. Here, I tackled my Blues by accessorizing a simple cotton frock in an unintended way: with a functional dress shirt.

This 34,000 pound, 26-foot statue of Marilyn Monroe in Chicago was revealed to the public over the weekend. How cool?  Photo credit.

Wearing: Dress, H&M / Top, Banana Republic / Jewelry, Tiffany & Co. / Shoes, SODA ($12 on sale!) / Bag, Kate Spade

How do you beat the Nothing to Wear Blues? What inspires you when you get dressed?

  1. I think you put yourself together pretty well for having nothing to wear! When I have nothing to wear I put on what makes me feel comfortable and thinner even if its something I have worn over and over and I make sure to accessorize nicely, wear makeup and put on great shoes!

  3. I hate those days! They usually result in a very annoyed boyfriend and missed dinner reservations. Oops. Love the outfit, you're too cute Hal!

  4. Isn't it great when we can play dress up in our own closet?? I have been doing that too. It is challenging and FUN! Super cute!

  5. I do have those moments! Nice wording of it ha, "Nothing to Wear Blues." I do the exact same thing too! Turn clothes into other uses of clothing. Cute outfit! The Marilyn Monroe statue is cool ha!
