Project Runway: Season Finale Fashion Copycat

Did you watch last night’s season finale of Project Runway? If you haven’t, and you plan to, stop reading!

If so, let’s chat: Whose collection did you like and dislike? Joshua’s urban pieces boasted a primary palette of black-and-white; Kimberly’s metallic blue hues looked uber feminine (so did she!); and Viktor said he’s beach-meets-city girl.

When I first saw Anya’s collection in September at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (and thereby spoiled this season for myself up until last night), I could practically hear Michael Kors gushing over her Tobago-inspired, resort-like looks.
That model is WORKING.

shop ::  shoes, similar shorts, top, belt
shop ::  anna sui, malene birger, similar seneca rising, madeleine thompson (it’s cashmere!)

shop ::  tulle (via modcloth), mink pink inca, lulus

Four months or not, the girl can sew. I was Team Joshua M from Episode One, but I took a liking to Anya’s laid-back design aesthetic as the season progressed and I’m excited to see what comes of her future in the fashion industry.  What do you think?

Happy Halloween weekend! Can’t wait to see what you’re wearing. -H

  1. I was a little disappointed in the winner. I liked Anya's clothing don't get me wrong, but I felt like they were pulled together in two days (oh wait they were!) I missed seeing structured items and wonder if she will be stuck in the Caribbean feel forever.

  2. The winner dress is really amazing, so beautiful.

    Have a sweet weekend.

  3. I've always liked Anya, and her designs are beautiful… in a way reminds me of Uli's aesthetic from season 3 with an island flair. Great post.

  4. Loved Anya's stuff and I'm glad she won! It totes was pulled together at the 11th hour but I guess it's a testament to her style and eye for design that the end result was so impressive. I will say that it would've been cool to see more structured/tailored looks like the black dress she made a few eps back.
