Simple Summer Styling

When the weather gets sticky, hot and humid like it has been in Chicago lately, minimal layering becomes a main priority.

However, there are days when the temps fall somewhere in between balmy and unbearably hot. This was one of those days — coupled with the fact that I guess I just can’t be wearin’ a swimsuit to the office. #corporateworldproblems

It was love at first sight with these MIA Botticelli flats and Free People blouse. They each add interest to otherwise simple cotton frock — without totally bogging me down, pit stain-wise.

… What? You know what I’m talking about. Sweat-proof is a summer essential, in my book. How do you elevate an easy summer outfit when it’s hot out?

  1. Great summer look! I just wish we had some warm weather here in San Francisco to wear that! I like how you paired it with the white blazer and gold accessories and I’m loving the sandals!

  2. Obsessed with this whole outfit! I’ve been a fan of your blog for about a year (per your Gossip Girl posts) and have always wanted you to do more “light” looks. As a mid-20 year old living in boggy-ol Houston, the more “cool” the outfit the better! Like you said, it’s a difficult task to look fashionable AND stay cool at the same time! Love love love it!
