Runway Recap: Siriano Sparkle, Jill Stuart

After yesterday’s brunch (and, to clarify, this is hashtag latergram), I made my way to west Chelsea for Christian Siriano’s collection. This was one of my most anticipated shows of the season, as I’d never been to a runway show outside of Lincoln Center and/or MILK studios.

I stood outside freezing my ass (and fingers) off for awhile, but it was all worth it as I shuffled in from the post-blizzard conditions, greeted by romantically dim lighting and dazzling runway chandeliers.

Opulence, glamour and elegance were on full display. When the first model stepped out from behind that red velvet curtain, we were transported back into the “golden age of Russian opera.” Ashlee Simpson, Miss Jay and a few other Hollywood starlets were front-and-center, lighting up in smiles every time Siriano sent a dose of sparkle down the runway (which was frequently).

And rest easy, peplum lovers. The trend was alive and well in this season’s collection.

Another favorite of the day was Jill Stuart. I loved last season’s collection, and with a fresh seasonal display of textured party dresses, inky capelets and romantic suit seperates tailored to perfection (her signature), this season’s follow-up did all but disappoint.

Lastly, I’m be making a HUGE announcement back here tomorrow morning. (My stomach is twisting in knots as I type this to you.) It’s an extremely significant development in my life and I can’t wait to share the latest with you. Drop back in tomorrow for an update!
