Trina Turk x HauteLook

Ironically, I’m writing today’s post about my last night in New York during Fashion Week (a mere three weeks ago), as I’m now back in New York, sitting in a Starbucks between apartment-hunting appointments.

I’ll update you more on my living situation/NYC adventures next week, but, side-bar: My feet hurt.

At the tail-end of Fashion Week, I was lucky enough to be extended an invitation from HauteLook (thanks, Ashley!) to their dinner celebrating one of my favorite designers, Trina Turk.

After trolling the street style happening outside Lincoln Center (pictured below), I checked out Trina’s presentation and made my way downtown for dinner.

I was seated with my fashion spirit animal and friend, Bianca, Alicia from Cheetah is the New Black, and across from Kim from Eat Sleep Wear and Ashley from Pursuit of Shoes. I’ve been a long-time reader of both Alicia’s and Kim’s blogs, so it was fun to meet them and chat in-person. Ash and I spent time in NYC together on our Macy’s campaign, so it was great to see her, too.

Trina is fascinating – she talked about the inspiration behind her collection, how integral a part of the merchandising process her hubby is (that dapper gent below), and how she was already jetting off to Paris the day following to source fabrics for next season… She must not care to sleep very much, either!
