I can’t. believe. it’s Monday. Rather depressing that summer’s longest weekend has come and gone, but let’s not dwell… What a weekend! For the most part, I spent mine in the air and on the lake. How ’bout you?
A few weeks back, I started receiving requests to see what I wear when I travel, so I thought an after-holiday post would be an appropriate time to share. (And I’m likely at the airport while you’re reading this.)
More often than not, my ensemble entails a few light layers and a neon pair of Nike Dunks. It depends where I’m going, but my focus is always on footwear. I’ll usually go with something that will carry through my airport commute (which often entails trains, planes and automobiles) so I can preserve my fragile flats. Not always, though.
These deceptively simple sneakers fuse the perfect mix of retro American coolness (that’s a term, right?), so they’re not only my go-to shoe for an airport commute, but to wear out with denim cut-offs, a white tee and a blazer.
This is what I wore on my recent trip to Chicago. I knew I’d be rockin’ the Dunks day-in and day-out, as the girls and I were planning to spend the weekend at a music festival. I’ll share a few photos from recent trip(s) with you later this week, but here’s a sneak peek in the meantime.
For more on what I pack and how I travel, check out this interview with Hitha on the Go.

I can’t travel without my leggings and chambray shirt, either! Love, love, love all your outfits. You even look cute when you travel!

Thanks, girl! You’re so sweet! Great minds think alike. Can’t go wrong with chambray!

Love the dunk wedges. I have a few pairs, not Nikes, but they are the best for commutes. They give you the height without the pain just fine.

Couldn’t agree MORE! I wore these to a three-day music festival and my feet felt fine. Thus, I’ve justified purchasing another pair. White? Black? Can’t decide! #both

I wanted that tank SO BAD, pretty sure I checked at least three different Zara’s for it and online. Love that you kept it sporty!

I think I actually found another site that has it! I’ll shoot you an e-mail

So obsessed with those sneaks. Perfect with that tank! Love all of your subtle matching.

Great travel outfit! Looks completely wrinkle resistant

Perfect outfit. I’m headed to the airport for a flight to San Jose tonight, so this post is perfectly timed for me! I’m rocking a maxi skirt all the way - for some reason wearing pants or leggings drives me insane when I have to sit for too long.

Oh la la, San Jose! Have a safe flight, Lara! I’ll have to take your advice on the maxi — these rag & bone leggings have a lining that’s really comfortable. Highly recommend!
Enjoy your trip!

I must say Hallie, you have faboulous “travel style”! I LOVE the Nike Dunks - they’re so funky and chic at the same time and add such a great pop of color. Of course you know I love your Phillip Lim bag and additionally love the touch of whimsy and fun you added with that cute tiger tee! Love, love!

Thanks, Stephanie! I love the pop of color, too. Sometimes a girl’s just gotta go with sneakers… With a side of Pashli.
