Behind the Scenes at Target’s Fall Fashion Show, Part 2

Two weeks ago, I took you backstage at the Target fall fashion show to peep the runway style and fresh-faced make-up trends.

We’re headed back there today, but under a bit of a different lens. Instead, I wanted to focus on one of the beauty trends that emerged (both from the runway and, as a result, my bathroom each AM): super-soft, wavy hair.

… And by each AM, of course, I mean those in which I don’t snooze incessantly.

So, backstage: While I did spend a good amount of time studying the make-up artists pre-show, I also sat and took copious mental notes as the hair stylists worked their magic on the models. (Side-note: Do you do that when you’re at the salon, too? Why can you never re-create that just-left-the-chair look? Infuriating.)

As I’m sure you know, some of fall’s fashion trends don’t exactly transition seamlessly from runway to real way. Fortunately, getting the hair is decidedly easier… More on that to come. In the meantime, what kind of fashion-blogger-slash-friend would I be if I didn’t help you re-create my three favorite tailored looks from the show?

Shop the look, left: blazer, white tee with faux-leather sleeves, tailored pants, ankle booties | center: white blazer with contrasting trim, keyhole blouse, faux-leather pants (I just bought these!), heels | right: striped dress, pointed-toe pumps (and yes, all of these looks are from Tar-jay)

I’ve felt inspired by the pretty mermaid waves on the runway at Target’s fall fashion show, so last week I (set my alarm and) attempted to re-create a tousled, wavy hair look with a few of my day-to-day hair products. I’ll share that in-detail on Thursday of this week, but here’s a sneak peek.

Wearing my new favorite lip color from Stila; outfit details on Thursday. Thanks, Lydia, for this photo.
