Target Trends, Vol. 2: Monochromatic

Last week in our Target Style series, we discussed our ongoing obsessions with oxblood. This week, let’s switch gears and chat about black-and-white (with a hint of blush).

Whereas oxblood has been dominating my wardrobe for the past two seasons (largely due to this gateway drug), I’ve been slower to adopt a more monochromatic style.

I’ve tended to gravitate toward vibrant, bright ensembles, but my style has evolved since moving to New York. As a result, I’ve started embracing the modern-looking palette cleanse of a black-and-white get-up… On the reg.

Here’s a few suggestions on how to get the look(s) — and yes, these pieces are all Target Style finds:

*Transitional whites: denim vest, sweater, faux-leather skirt (actual skirt I’m wearing), booties // *Winter-worthy whites: blazer with faux-leather trim, graphic tank, white denim (on clearance; I suggest sizing up), wayfarer sunglasses, ankle booties // *Cozy monochromatics: Vest with faux fur collar, blazer, cap-sleeve dress, tall black boots

  1. Love all of your looks! I’d wear every single one - the white jeans are perfect for winter - though in NYC you might have trouble keeping them white! The cozy mono chromatics outfit would have to be my absolute favorite though - love the cozy faux fur and vest-over-dress look.

    Have a great week!
