Embellished

A very significant (sartorial) factor in what’s gotten me through countless Midwest winters is the fact that I can wear some form of faux fur every single day.

And after six cold-and-windy winters in Chicago, I’ve amassed quite the collection of faux fur separates. This embellished Cynthia Vincent number was an out-of-season sale score from Piperlime a few years back. (I wear my Macy’s vest often in the rotation, too.)

I guess it qualifies as one of my season-less pieces, as I may or may not have worn it (do wear it**) during the faux fur off-season in the private of my own apartment with little else, but that’s beside the point.

… What? I bought it in July and I’m impatient. If it’s cozy, sign me up.

I was actually first introduced to Cynthia Vincent‘s brand through my Piperlime purchase. I was hooked.

There’s a place in every woman’s closet for Vincent’s line, Twelfth Street, and I’m speaking from experience. Her super-chic, contemporary aesthetic of fashion-meets-function is ideal for us girls-on-the-go.

As a result of her real estate in my closet, I jumped at the opportunity to visit Vincent at her Nolita boutique last month to chat about travel, cocktails and her most recent collection – but what I really loved was getting to know the woman behind the brand. I’ll share that exclusive interview with you guys tomorrow.
