Jetset

Hello, in all likelihood, from 30,000 feet!

I’m off to the West Coast today, so I thought a post on my standard airplane attire would be suitable to share.

For travel, I typically build my outfit around a monochromatic palette. It lends my look a cool jetsetter vibe and ensures I appear pulled together — even if I’m actually, say, battling a two-day champagne-induced hangover. (So much for that low-key weekend I preached.) I may not feel first-class, but maybe if I look the part they’ll give me an upgrade.

Kidding, that’s SO not my luck… Oh, and totally hypothetical situation.

For longer flights (New York to SF is around six hours), I layer thin tops that are a bit on the longer side. I always have a scarf with me, too — even a silk one for summer travel. It keeps me cozy in the chilly terminal but can easily be stripped down once I’m stranded on the jetway in a middle seat at the mercy of “mechanical problems.” Delays for days is the name of the game for this girl all-to-often.

This lambswool number is chic, luxurious and practical. Beneficial to society, too: As I’ve mentioned to my travel bud Hitha, I am not a pretty public sleeper by any means. Total mouth breather.

To finish the look, I pull on a pair of no-fuss boots. Ones that can have me ready for any type of weather upon arrival. What’ll it be this week, SF?

  1. You’re guaranteed to be the best dressed in the air with this outfit! Like you, I’m far from a pretty sleeper, so a cute outfit is a good distraction for those times I pass out on the plane with my mouth wide open. Have a good trip!

  2. Everyone seems to be raving about those leather leggings - I think I need to get myself a pair ASAP.

You look first class in this outfit! (PS - if you fly United to the West Coast, LET ME KNOW. I have upgrades I can give you).

  3. I’m seriously loving those leather leggings! And is that the medium size Pashli?! I’m kind of obsessed! And those booties are SO good! If I literally hadn’t just promised myself (well, my credit card) no more shoes till after the holidays I would probably be scooping them up right now!

And PS I didn’t get to comment on Friday’s post - huge congrats on GLAM! Sounds like the perfect fit for you!!

    xx

  4. Glad to know I’m not alone in liking to glam it up a bit while traveling! I really need to try on a pair of those leggings, they look like the perfect basic. Have fun in SF, sometimes I really miss living on the west coast!

  5. I never travel without a scarf. It helps add warmth and makes the whole experience a lot more comfortable. Love the leggings. I seriously need to get a pair. Hope you are enjoying the west coast. - Katy
