Getting Festive: DIY Holiday Stockings

A few weeks ago, I spent an afternoon in the Glam studios, DIY’ing holiday stockings with a few of my favorite New York girls.

diy, christmas, holiday, stocking

Since I’m going to be gone for the majority of December/January (Asia!) I won’t be dressing a tree, making Christmas cookies or decking my halls (hall — singular/doorway, rather, as I live in a 450 square-foot studio). As a result, it was nice to get in the holiday spirit by creating a “statement piece” for my apartment mantle.

Here are a few reasons you should watch the video:

  • It’s Friday!
  • We laugh a lot.
  • It’s proof that felt can be pretty.
  • There’s glitter, sequins, bows and lots of faux fur.
  • Jess, Julia and Channing are exceptional DIY’ers. I’m about par.
  • You can hear what my voice sounds like — and how high ridiculous I sound in the very last sentence. (I debated whether or not I should point out my opinion on this, but, hey — now you’re going to watch the video, aren’t you?)

  1. Love the stockings! I still have my minnie mouse one from when I was 2. It’s was big enough that I could fit into it at the time, so I don’t want to get rid of it since “Santa” can fit so much into it! But I love the idea of making my own
