Glitter Finish

Eight airports, two flight cancellations and a handful of delays later, I’m back on the East Coast.

I’ve spent most of the past few days at 30,000 feet (or so it seems), jet-setting around for work, events and college-style celebrations with my girlfriends. The very best weekends are those spent in sweatshirts and leggings at your Alma mater — $1.50 beers in-hand. Don’t you agree?

It seems we’re in the throes of jacket season across the entire US — it’s bitter cold along the East Coast, snow-capped in the Midwest and not quite balmy in Northern California (where I was last week).

For travel especially, this Zara number has been my one-size-fits-all of sorts — seasonally so. Throughout this year’s ever-changing winter weather, the cropped silhouette has kept me warm with lots of layers, while still being light enough for West Coast jaunts. I’ve worn it everywhere from office luncheons to layovers and Fashion Week, and statement shoes are typically involved… Natch.

That said, of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention these shoes, wouldn’t I? I found my Markus Lupfer ankle booties on major mark-down via Net-a-Porter — so basically, in the form of a freak Internet accident. They’re still available via FarFetch and ASOS, though!

  1. Those booties were amazing! I saw that you were stuck in O’hare - I LOATHE that airport, I’ve been stuck there so many times that I will pay hundreds of dollars extra (ok maybe not that much) to not stop there.

Glad you made it home! It looked like you had an amazing time in Ohio! Fun fact, I went to Miami of Ohio so I can only begin to imagine how much fun you had with your friends at OU. :)

    • OMG, yes! I tried to avoid a layover in Chicago but I just couldn’t. I had to fly out of Midway the next day (six hours later), so it was an interesting day of CTA transferring.

Love that you went to Miami! Our campuses are SO similar. I hadn’t been back in awhile so I was very nostalgic (and drunk, haha). xoxo

    • Oh em gee. We have so much to talk about!

Let’s just say my weekend consisted of Champagne smoothies, Junction punches (I refuse to call it J-Bar), Black Widows and the ledge at The CI.

      OU OH YEAH! x
