Boyfriend and/or Denim

Finding the perfect pair of distressed denim is a lot like searching for a suitable boyfriend…

It’s downright difficult, and often times you question whether or not it’s even worth it.

Plus, it gets even harder once you throw all of the consideration details in there, too — like fit, wash, fabric and length.

And then it’s like, what color? Do you want skinny or relaxed? (Still talking about jeans, here.) And what varying degree of bagginess are we looking for?

I know. It’s f-king exhausting. (Read on, though.)

So when you do find the perfect pair of distressed denim, it’s a huge relief. (And I imagine it’s the same feeling when you find said boyfriend, but for now I’m still swiping left.)

I spotted *the* pair for me on a recent end-of-the-season trip to the Hamptons. (remember our Weekend in Sag Hargbor?) It was one of those, “oh, they’re sitting next to the register so I’ll pick them up because I’m bored,” type of finds. Totally mindless.

… Isn’t that how they say it always happens? When you’re least expecting it?!

Ahem. Anyway, the brand is One Teaspoon, and lucky for you, you can browse or shop their stuff at REVOLVE and Shopbop. So in other words, we’re not quite exclusive — but I’m working on it.

… Jeans, man. We’re gettin’ real deep over here on c+c today. Better to ease on into the week, though, right?

This weekend was a good one. And that’s largely because I didn’t do anything — beyond a few errands (including the corner bodega for flowers), a bit of exercise and a lot of Netflix binging. How about you, anything to report?

I’m off to make this Monday a productive one (and yes, chances are, I’m wearing my jeans).

  1. This is such a great look Hallie! You look adorable and it is SO you! I love those glasses in addition to the jeans and you’re right; finding a boyfriend is like finding the perfect pair of jeans.

  2. I had a similar experience trying to find the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans a few years back, until one day I was walking through a department store, and spotted them on top of a bargain bin. Ksubi jeans at less than $100? Can’t say no to that! Well done on finding your perfect distressed denim - and an Aussie brand too!

  3. So true! It had taken me YEARS to finally find the perfect boyfriend jeans. And I found them-one pair that’s Aéropostale and one pair that’s Rich & Skinny. Go figure!

  4. You look amazing. I have the problem where my hip/thigh is my largest area, so I don’t want too baggy of pants to make me look gigantic, but I don’t’ want more skin tight jeans, but I want them distressed, but not teenage level ripped, and I want a darker wash when most boyfriend jeans are lighter.

*Sigh* I’m failing at the search for both boyfriend and jeans 😉

    • I know what you mean — it’s a tough combination to find! Sometimes you just have to try them on, too — as an FYI, Nordstrom, Zappos, Shopbop and Revolve all have free shipping/returns. : )

Now, the boyfriend sitch. At least we’re in this together. ; )

  5. Fabulous! I’ve been eyeing these jeans and this post just might push me over the edge. Do you mind me asking if they run true to size?
