Oversized Silhouette

There’s an incredible sense of ease in pulling on the super-sized silhouette of your coziest sweater.

I’d imagine it’s the crisp, cold weather that sends me straight into the arms of a cozy cable-knit (quite literally)…

Either way, I’m all about exaggerating when it comes to knitwear — a style that’ll work particularly well with cotton leggings come Thanksgiving Day. (Can you believe that’s less than two weeks away?!)

Paired with distressed denim and super-chic loafers — you’ve got yourself a perfectly cute-and-cozy get-up.

Well, it’s my ideal ensemble, at least. If you’re volume-averse, you can opt for a high-heel or straight-leg skinny jeans to balance the look.

Now, about the shoes. Because I know you’re wondering.

I was at a press preview last month (wherein a PR company/associate invites you to learn more about the brands they represent) when I was first introduced to Cobra Society, a line of luxury footwear and accessories.

There, I met Alex (the founder) -we got to talking, and then I went home and Internet-stalked the shit out of her and her brand. As one does.

I’ll give you the Cliff Notes version: Cobra Society is a New York City-based brand that’s hand-made exclusively by artisans in Spain and Morocco. What originally began in 2012 as a line of boots has since expanded into a full-blown collection of loafers, boots, bags and more (as worn by the likes of Jessica Alba, Ali Larter and Jennifer Lawrence).

I’m all for supporting up-and-coming designers — especially when it’s (1) an awesome brand and (2) a female entrepreneur behind the driver’s seat.

*Update: Cobra Society is offering a discount off (site-wide!) to c+c readers. Use the code CORALS10 for 10% off your order plus free ground shipping. If you’re shopping in-store, just mention this blog post!

I’ve worn the Najet loafers a number of times (as you’ve noticed on Instagram, no doubt), and have been really happy to find that they’re just as comfortably durable as they are beautifully designed. These New York City streets are a tried-and-true test to the versatility of a girl’s shoe collection. I’m obsessed!

Now, which to purchase as my next pair?

  1. I’ve been waiting for this post ever since you started posting sneak peaks of this look on Instagram! I’ve been looking for the “right” way to pair boyfriend jeans with flats for a few weeks now (I usually wear them with heels to make me look less stumpy #shortgirlprobs) - and I love how you did it!

    Happy Monday, girl!
