Yard Sale

As it tends to do each year, New York Fashion Week has snuck right on up again this season.

Oh yes. Three days and counting… [Audible exhale.]

I have, like, half of my shit together ahead-of-time this season, which really just means my apartment looks like a freakin’ yard sale: Hangers astray, shoes carpeting the floor and piles, piles, piles. (Admittedly, that’s an accurate statement regardless of whether or not it’s Fashion Week.)

I tore through my wardrobe over the weekend to source some style inspiration for the busy week ahead, as well as unearth a few of my old favorite pieces.

I’ve told you how comfort has staged a coup in my closet, but I know I need to step up my game this week.

This also means I took one exceptionally overdue trip to the dry cleaner’s, too, where I was reacquainted with a lot of clothing, including this yellow blazer — a long-ago H&M find.

As a side-note, does anyone else utilize the dry cleaner as seasonal storage option? … No? Well, blame New York. I’d highly recommend it, actually; just don’t forget to check-in and pick up your shit every few months. (Clearly, I’m living life on the edge.)

I experimented with today’s ensemble in two ways. While I love the streamlined simplicity of the hat-and-sweater combo, I packed a statement necklace to throw on once I settled into my desk indoors. Which look do you like better?

If nothing else, there’s nothing like a little bit of neon to chase away the Monday blues…
