Link Love, Vol. 49

Happy Friday! I can’t believe that that this weekend marks the official unofficial start of summer. Finally, right? I hope you have a beach in your very near-future.

  1. first of you, you need to read the tidying up book — you won’t be sorry!

what’s with the “front row” thing in soulcycle? the unbreakable kimmy schmidt (hilarious, by the way) referenced this as well. makes me a little uneasy to think that maybe the front row is more valued than the back row in a class. i’d love to know more about it so i’m not giving myself excuses not to try soulcycle, you know?

    • That’s what my BFF Jess said, too. I’m adding it to my reading list!

I’m going to write a Soul-focused post in the next two weeks, but in short: No, there is definitely no lesser value of ANY bike in the studio. Often, the more advanced/experienced riders sit in the front row, but you can ride wherever you feel the most comfortable. Would love to have you in class!

      • you’re the best. thanks for letting me know!

i live in chicago and couldn’t make your last minute trip to old town, but i DO want to see you/meet you/take a class with you/hang out with you (is that too much? HA) when you come back again. i think you said maybe june? i would love to take one of your classes, hallie!

  2. Ah I just restarted Gossip Girl from season one on Netflix yesterday so that post couldn’t have been better timing! I kept texting my friends “But seriously, how are they all 16 and going to every bar in the city”. Another question, had did Chuck try to attack both Serena and Jenny in the 1st episode and everyone was just like “it’s okay, that’s just chuck”?

Hope you have an amazing Memorial Day weekend!

    xx,
    Susie

  3. I highly recommend reading Marie Kondo’s book! She’s SO passionate about tidying, and treats possessions with great respect, e.g. she says something like “Not all people are meant to stay in your life forever. Neither are all things. If you bought a dress you never wore, it was still valuable. It taught you not to buy anymore like that. Thank it, donate it, and move on.”

Anyway I just think the whole thing is really worth reading :)

    Happy Memorial Day!

  4. I read the Marie Kondo book in February and unloaded 4 bags of crap and 3 bags of clothes during round one. I live in a 500sqft studio, so I can barely fit that much stuff in my home! I’m planning to do a second round this summer in anticipation of a move, and to figure out what pieces I need to acquire for fall/winter. She sounds a little crazy in the book, but some of the traditional Japanese stuff doesn’t translate well.
