What I’m Wearing in the Windy City

It’s my last day in the Windy City (and holy shit, has it been windy), and I vastly underestimated how much time I’d be spending offline over the past few days.

Striped t-shirt: Trina Turk (here in tank top form) / Mid-rise jeans: Express (more styles here) / Canvas flats: Soludos via Zappos (more colors here) / Striped weekender bag: c/o Talbots (under $70)

Apologies for the lack of new content around here this week; but for once, I thought I’d take my own advice, enjoy some time offline and just pop in to say hello today.

Man, I really under-packed for how cold it is here. It’s, like, winter. (Well, okay, 45 degrees and breezy, but still.)

Thankfully, I packed a few layerable items in my striped weekender bag — and I’ve been wearing them on repeat all week: A vintage-style tee under a cozy cardigan, stain-resistant white denim and my new adidas sneakers (as shown below).

I’ve been talking about this Rebecca Minkoff backpack for awhile — and I finally bit the bullet. It fits a lot more than I thought, so buyer’s remorse begone! It also comes in nylon — which has a neon interior — but since I already have a nylon backpack, I went with the leather.

Necklace: BaubleBar coordinates pendant

Lastly, here’s a few posts/pieces of content I’m working on to publish over the next few weeks. If you have questions or thoughts about things you want to read about in each, let me know:

  • My weight loss journey, which is somewhat of a continuation of this post.
  • An update about SoulCycle — what it is and why you should try it.

Back to you tomorrow with a fresh set of links I’ve been loving over the last week.

  3. Hope you’re enjoying your time in Chi! For your weight loss journey post, I’d love to hear about how you managed things when you were working full time at a desk job. I know the snack bowl/time after work is something I struggle with, but you look AWESOME so would love your insights. I love how authentic you are around these “life” topics — keep doing you!

  4. Sounds like you just missed the weather change around here! We hit the low 80s today but it came with buckets of rain and humidity so I’d say you were better off with the chill 🙂

I’m in love with your striped weekender bag. Totally snagging one for myself!
