Link Love, Vol. 62

Peaks & Pits | Aug. 28, 2015

Peak: My couch is here — and Jess helped me build all of my furniture! (This week’s mantra has been: Some Assembly Required. FML!) In sum, my apartment is starting to feel like home.

Pit: It’s been cloudy and on the chillier side here in Chi-town… I’m excited for fall, but I could use a few more 80-degree days here before September.

I know content was a bit on the lighter side the past few days, but that’s because I’ve had a heavier SoulCycle schedule this week (16 classes). I realize I talk about Soul a lot but I don’t really get into the details of it, so just to give you an idea… One class takes up around three or four hours of the day — whether it’s researching music, making a playlist, preparing in the studio or just talking with people afterward. (Then there’s the element of undoing so much physical damage to the body, like foam rolling, yoga and stretching, too.)

All-in-all, it just requires me to be offline a lot… Which I’ve noticed contributes a lot to my overall happiness. (Ever notice how days spent with friends/without your computer tend to be your best?)
