Link Love, Vol. 63

Happy holiday weekend, my friends! Lots of read-worthy links and sales to shop this week.

But first: Remember how I demo’ed L’Oreal Paris’s new Glam Lights last week (via Snapchat)? You may have been able to note the difference in my hair over the last week or so, but I wanted to give you a quick run-down on the process/how it went:

In sum, the applicator is easy and the effects are beautiful. It wasn’t messy or smelly, either. While applying the product took one or two swipes to get used to, I got the hang of it really quickly. A tip to remember if you’re going to use the product: Apply very little pressure near your roots, then get heavy-handed as you work your way down your hair. (Admittedly, you can tell where I made my first swipe, above; it still looks good, I think — just remember this for when you do it at home!)

For more subtle highlights, you can shower off the product after around 20 minutes. I kept mine in for about 40, which left me with blonder-looking locks, as shown in these photos.

Typically, you’d have to buy a baby toothbrush to apply highlights at home like these, but the kit was all-inclusive and super-simple. I’d definitely buy it again to bide me some time in between appointments!

  1. Funny timing on your social media past post. I just dug it up again yesterday to reread as I’m thinking about rebranding my handles for more of a personal touch and finding the names across all platforms.

What do you think?
