Crop Tops and Neon

It’s still a bit chilly here in Chicago, and on those days that I struggle with transitioning my wardrobe from winter to spring, sometimes the answer is simply a crop top and a pop of neon.

Apparently, goosebumps are a go-to accessory today. Did you notice mine in the first photo? Here’s a bit more winter to spring style inspiration, in case crop tops aren’t your thing.

A Month’s Worth of Giveaways: The Mecca of Makeup Palettes [Closed]

It’s time to do a bit of spring cleaning across that cosmetics counter and make room for the Holy Grail of makeup palettes… Our fourth and final giveaway (for March) has arrived!

If you haven’t heard of Urban Decay’s Naked palette, get familiar. This baby is packed with 12 gorgeous neutral tones and a pro-quality shadow brush. It’s one of my absolute favorite products — year-round — so naturally, I couldn’t resist picking up an extra Palette for one of you to enjoy.

What I’m Wearing: Geek Chic

Admittedly, I’m a huge nerd. So when the lovely Emma from Très Awesome snapped me for a guest post on the Modcloth Blog, the chic geek in me couldn’t have been happier! Check out the Modcloth feature here and more of Emma’s street style shots here.

I’m a research geek analyst by day, and as luck would have it, nerd has been a major theme on and off the runways the past year.

Where I spend my days from nine-to-five, fashion takes a back seat to most other things. Since designer duds and an expertly crafted color-blocking ensemble can get lost on a company full of numerical analysts, I decided to create this blog, where I’d hoped my daily efforts and arguably unacceptable collection of shoes would be better comprehended. (*I’m grateful for the awe you reserve for my Jeffrey Campbell’s, H&P!)

That said, corals + cognacs was born in March 2011, and the past year has been amazing, thanks to you. Next week continues the One Year Blogiversary celebration, so I hope you’ll stay tuned! In the meantime, don’t forget to enter this week’s giveaway (ends Saturday at noon CST). Happy weekend! xo
