Holiday Wishes (and Wants) from corals + cognacs

Merry, merry, fashion fiends! I wanted to first take a moment to wish you a very happy holiday, and then another to reiterate how grateful I have been for your support.

In lieu of Sunday’s shoe post, I decided to share my style-saturated Christmas wish list, instead — which is essentially a designer dossier of my favorite trends from fashion’s finest.
I have very basic taste. Just a few simple requests. Right? Have a look for yourself… Merry Christmas!
Those peep-toe booties. So classic.

The leopard-print pair is my fave.

If you’re looking to shop these shoes, try Net-a-Porter or Saks for Miu Miu, Charlotte Olympia and Pierre Hardy and Bergdorf’s (duh) for Chanel and Christian Louboutin. What’s on your wish list?

All the best! x H

Off-the-Set Style: Blake Lively

Even though we must endure five long weeks without Gossip Girl, that doesn’t mean we have to halt our weekly fashion digests, does it? Until our favorite Upper East Siders return to our TV sets on January 16, get your GG fix with me in reviewing our favorite stars’ ensembles — both behind the scenes and off the set.

Let’s start by style-stalking the lovely Serena, i.e. Blake Lively:

Blake is wearing Theoroda and Callum wedges, Victoria Beckham zip jeans and a quilted Chanel bag.
Get her look for less with a wide-brimmed hat from Forever 21, H&M leather trousers and ASOS wedges (they’re on sale!).

Cozy up in these shearling boots from Ugg Australia (bottom), as seen on Blake between takes on the Gossip Girl set. That top pair is from Madewell, I need ‘em!
Leaving a Barnes & Noble in NYC, just another stylish Sunday! … in a leather Burberry coat, Opening Ceremony dress, Louboutin pumps and a D&G bag. Get her look for less with a J. Crew trench, cashmere Burberry scarf, Aldo shoes and a KDNY bag.
Spotted: Blake smiling on the set… in a sequined Gryphon sweater, Mike & Chris jacket and J. Brand coated leggings.
Get her look for less with a Warehouse top, Topshop skinnies, Blowfish boots, a Modcloth moto jacket and a Tory Burch shoulder bag.

Holiday Gift Guide: The Label Lover

With nearly four weeks until Christmas, I’m jumping on the gift guide bandwagon to help you get a head start on your shopping for the holiday season. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting awesome options for everyone on your list, so stay tuned and check back often!

The holidays are a perfect time to give (and to receive!) those luxury items you’ve been pining over all year, especially since it ’tis the season that many designers price their gift sets reasonably.
Giving a brand-name gift isn’t just for your label lovers, it’s a fail-proof way to make all your recipients feel A-list!

Happy Shopping! -H

Summer-to-Fall Fashion: The Cotton Frock

You may not realize it, but there are ways to transition into a fall-friendly wardrobe using pieces you already have and love. This week, we’ll cover off on five of those, including cotton dresses, maxi skirts, color-blocking, short-shorts and white denim.

My goal for this weekly outfit series is to show you that you don’t need to break the bank to weatherize your wardrobe.  Though certain items don’t translate to fall-friendly (like barely-there tanks and flip flops), there are several ways to give life to your summer favorites, especially through layers!

This simple sundress has been my MVP multiple times a week so far this fall (that’s Most Versatile Piece).

Army-colored jackets and neutral-toned accessories are an easy way to make your frocks look more refined and appropriate for chillier temps. Toss on closed-toed boots or oxfords to give your ensemble an edge once it’s time to put away the summer sandals.

My favorite, no-fail trend for fall is probably yours, too: booties!
I’ve been wearing these comfy Blowfish wedges all over Chicago this season.

Shop the look! Boots: c/o Blowfish / Dress: H&M ($12 in-store; lusting after this similar style, Lush) / Jacket: Thrifted (similar, Madewell) / Belt: Thrifted (similar, Rogers Whitely) / Sunglasses: Chanel
PS: Gossip Girl returns to TV tonight! I can’t wait to see what Season 5 has in store for our favorite Upper East Siders. All eyes on Blair Waldorf! xoxo
