Chartreuse and Navy

in outfits, what i'm wearing

Nothing like a little chartreuse to bright up an otherwise dreary day.

I’ve had a hard time not wearing this neon blazer ever since I picked it up at H&M, which you’ll notice in the weeks to come. I find myself mainly reaching for neutral tones to pair it with, like this nude-tone maxi. I’m easing my gams into tights season, if you will. We had our first snowfall in Chicago last night (and there were approximately six snowflakes).

*Wearing: H&M blazer (similar), Bella Dahl chambray shirt, vintage maxi, Furla bag, F21 booties, David Yurman cuff, ALDO spike bracelet

On another note, I recently upgraded to a DSLR (or “nicer”) camera. Can you tell? My Canon Rebel T3i is a lot of fun; but I have so much to learn. Any tips and tricks you’d care to share? Thanks to my lil’ sis, Lisa, for snapping these pics (not that I gave you a choice.)

You’re most welcome! They turned out great despite the gloomy day we were having. Can’t wait to see some NYC posts!

I love this outfit! I would never think to pair a nude skirt with a neon yellow blazer, but it looks great on you! I love the dark chambray and navy blue accents. Still can’t get over the fact that those booties are F21!

I LOVE this color combo!! I feel like blazers look weird on me, but maybe with a maxi I could pull it off!

I love a good blazer…So creative and insightful to do a bright pop of color. I always feel hesitant about wearing bright colors in winter since everyone seems to be wearing some shade of black or gray 24/7 during this season, but you have given me confidence :) Also - about your new camera - I just wrote a blog post on shooting with your DSLR not long ago, so check it out :) http://summerrottinger.com/2012/11/chicago-professional-photography-session/

Lol to the six snowflakes. You look fab and I think your photos look great. Congrats on upgrading your camera. LOL, I know that is the coolest feeling ever. I upgraded mine but I predominately have to take photos using self timer which I don’t think produces the best photos. I’m thinking about investing in a remote. Anywho, you look great. Love the outfit!
