Just a quick little post of materialism, if I may… because pretty bags make for pretty photos, right?
Meet my new leading lady, the aubergine 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel (available at Barney’s and Sak’s).
There’s a bit of a story behind this bag. After reaching a few goals I’d set for corals + cognacs last year (and consigning a few of my other bags to “fundraise”), I finally bit the bullet and purchased my Phillip Lim Pashli in early October.
After a three months of backorder nightmare with Nordstrom, she finally arrived at my doorstep. (*Jessica and I have sadly been debating this: Do you refer to your handbags as a “she” or “he?” If neither and you think I’m insane, chalk it up and just keep reading.)
When shopping for an investment bag, you always run the a risk of buying an “It Bag” and having it be on the out within the next season; however, the Phillip Lim Pashli has under-the-radar branding and a perfect berry palette that’s maintained my interest for more than a year now, so I can say for sure the hype isn’t a purchasing factor.
Judging from Instagram feedback, it seems I’m not alone in my bag lust. I hope you like it, because you’ll be seeing it in a lot of upcoming outfit posts!
Any purchases you’re saving up for at the moment?

Ahhhh so jealous! It’s a gorgeous shade you picked, and splurging as a reward for reaching goals is always a good way to keep yourself motivated! Congrats on both, Hallie! (I’ve gotta go with referring to the bags as a she….they’re much too pretty to be a he)
xx

He or she, that bag is beautiful. I’m leaning toward she though, with that color how could it be a he?
Jessica January 24, 2024 at 11:09 am
We were thinking “he” along the lines of Phil.. Ya know, Phillip Lim
It’s weird. I call my LV bag “Louie” (REALLY original, I know), but think of the bag as a her. Maybe it’s just a gay man??
corals + cognacs January 24, 2024 at 11:25 am
HAHAHAHAA. Yes! The great debate continues…

OMG. My heart is fluttering. He/She is a beauty. Can’t wait to pet him/her when he/she’s at my apartment in a few weeks!
So jealz — you deserve it, Hallie! xo

You and Jess are funny… But really… My bags are all she’s (except for my black PS11 which is a he, naturally).

LOVEEE!!! I’m actually currently saving up for a bag as well!! It’s going to be my post no-shopping-for-lent reward! And I’m seriously contemplating a Pashli or the two toned 31 hour bag. I can’t decide!!
Anyway - SHE is beautiful, that’s my favorite color in the Pashli! And I definitely say she…agreeing with Lia, way to pretty to be a he!

That bag is gorgeous, and I am sure it will last a long time. I know exactly how you feel about buying an investment piece like this. I am waiting until I graduate and then I am getting a Chanel

She is a beauty! Love that color. Congrats and enjoy your new baby!

I love that color but I probably love the hardware on this bag even more! It’s WAY out of my league but I love that you saved and also sacrificed a few bags for this purchase. Good things come to those who wait .
