Friends with Benefits

The best kind of friends are the friends with benefits…

… and I’m not talking about that kind. I mean, I could, but we’ll save that for another day. When my mom’s away on a golf retreat or something.

I’m talking about the friends who have really awesome accessory closets and no qualms with letting you borrow from them. Which, incidentally, is exactly what I did with Julia’s leather backpack last weekend.

Context: Over brunch on Saturday, I learned that her hubs bought it for her for Christmas last year… And now I feel like I need one. The bag, not a husband. Or, well — maybe a boy that will buy me purses?

… Husband or handbag, life’s great debate.

The friends that forget to tell you that you’re wearing a hair-tie on your wrist during outfit photos? Man, they’re the worst. The WORST!

Totally kidding (love you, blog wife). Consider it a tiny taste of #TheRealCorals. You know me, always post-SoulCycle…

And since I’ve worn them in just about every single blog post this summer (Fourth of July was my favorite outfit), I feel the need to tell you that my white shorts are on sale — at nearly 40% off, at that.

I am literally purchasing another pair as you read, because I can be the clumsiest person on the planet and, well, we all know how red wine and black coffee abide by Murphy’s Law (of finding their way onto my lap).

  1. I always forget about Madewell as a place to buy leather pieces, but I’m always impressed with their stuff when I take a look. And friends who let you borrow their stuff are the best…except I’m always suuuuuper nervous I’m going to spill something on it!

  2. I, no joke, was wishing I had a backpack like that for this weekend! I am going to a music festival and have no idea what bag I’m going to bring! (You know, real problems…)

    • Those ARE real problems, lol. The best thing about this bag is that it looks better with a little wear-and-tear, so you don’t have to worry about roughing it up… Have a blast at the festival!
