Luxe and Lady-like

Today’s ensemble is a bit dressier than my go-to layered looks, but for the second style challenge in our (new’ish) Friday series, I was eager to up the ante after happily stumbling upon so many weekend-worthy, affordable designer separates at Marshall’s.

Lace fashions that are simple and sophisticated in shape (read: no low-cut tops), feel dressed up and super-femme when mixed with textured separates. They’re wearable for daytime (throw on a denim jacket or an unbuttoned blouse), but I prefer ’em for evening.

For tonight’s look, I wanted to wear a skirt. I felt a sweeping floor-length with a pretty pair of hidden heels would be a nice change from the usual pencil-skirt-‘n’-heels combo. Also, my gams are desperate for some Vitamin D.

The hey-look-there’s-your-bra look certainly isn’t for everyone, though – I’ve gotten a number of mixed reviews and side-eye looks from friends, but ultimately, I wear what makes me feel happy and confident. You can always ease into the trend with an underneath tank, friends!

So happy it’s the weekend! What does yours hold in store?

Oh, and if you haven’t yet, be sure to share your #FabFound finds on Instagram and Twitter (use the hashtag) — you’ll automatically be entered to win a $50 gift card.
