The Suede Skirt

I see you, fall, but I’m gonna hold on to bare-leg season just a little bit longer…

This morning, I pulled on that skirt that I told you about last week — the one I styled with the eyelet apron-looking top from Tibi. A bit more seasonally appropriate with today’s styling, I suppose… If we’re going by calendar dates.

I swear, suede anything is like the pumpkin spice of style right now. (The difference is that this is a flavor I can get behind! Don’t hate me, but I have never liked PSL’s.)

One of the things that makes me laugh most about Fashion Week is how attendees dress for the season, not necessarily the weather.

So, like, they’ll be wearing faux fur and leather despite the fact that its (still) 80 degrees. Vice-a-versa come February… Weird, right?

At any rate, it’s remains to be lovely here in Chicago (weather-wise — knock on wood!), and this skirt continues to be the perfect piece to check off both style boxes.

Suede skirts FTW!

  1. I hear you! That is one of my biggest pet peeves-dressing for the season and not the weather. It’s still hot here in Colorado, so I’m still dressing like it’s summer. I’m learning to love the seasons as they are and to not make them into something they’re not. Love the look! And how you tied in fall with an outfit appropriate for the weather. You are rockin’ it, Hallie!

  3. Funny story - I was actually having a meeting with my boss at Little Goat and we spotted a blogger taking photos but couldn’t tell who. Come to find out (from this post), it was you during this shoot! ha

Love this look and especially the suede texture for fall!

What do you think?
