Fifty Shades of Grey

It seems silly to post one of my favorite faux fur ensembles when it’s 70 degrees out (yaaaas!), but consistency hasn’t been key this season in the Windy City, so…

I tend to go through this weird wardrobe shift when the weather turns from summer to fall. It’s like, I’m drawn to color-packed pieces when it’s warmer out, but as the seasons change I find that it’s refreshing to go through a bit of a neutral-hued palette cleanse.

More specifically — whether it’s vintage tees and felt fedoras or faux fur vests and leather handbags, I’ve been gravitating toward fifty(ish) shades of grey this season… Style-wise.

I’ve had this faux fur vest from for awhile now, and you’ll notice it looks identical to Jess’s version from her Bows & Sequins line, styled here.

Now, I know what you’re thinking.

Those white jeans… Again.

I know. But, like, really: If you can’t wear it a ton of different ways, why buy it?

I’m starting to understand (and appreciate) the notion of having very well-curated closet. It makes getting dressed SO much easier, so you can expect to see these another time or two before snow hits the ground and I’m forced to retire them.
