Summer Layers

Recently, I’ve seen more than my fair share of rain-ridden, gloomy days across the country. I spent a few days in San Fran this week where I was formally introduce to what West Coasters refer to as the “June Gloom.” (I should have anticipated it having read this recent post by Jacey!)

Chic Floral Shorts

One of my favorite things about summer — which has seemingly arrived in New York — is the opportunity to mix and match some of the boldest brights and prettiest prints I can find.

I was crushing hard on these floral shorts from The Limited when I saw them whilst innocently window shopping. True to form, that moral compass of mine turned me on my heels and guided me into the.

I was thrilled to find they were on sale (and they still are) — don’t you love when a purchase seems as though it were meant to be? … Pretty sure that statement is one that comes with a check-box next to it at a Shopaholics Anonymous meeting.

I wore this outfit while wandering the village of Southampton with Jessica, but I’ll undoubtedly be dressing these up (with heels) and down (with chambray) throughout the rest of the season.

18 Must-Have Statement Necklaces

Confession time, gals.

I’ve become a tried-and-true statement necklace hoarder, and I think the gateway culprit is the galactic gem bib from BaubleBar (styled here and here) that I purchased a few months back.

I’ve never been the type to wear tons of jewelry (or, since I’m watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, “frooost myself”), but I love how effortlessly a statement piece can pack a punch into an otherwise ordinary ensemble. That said, here are a few of my favorite brilliantly crafted, candy-colored finds from BaubleBar, J.Crew and my new fave, Loren Hope.

Any favorites from the bunch? Designers you’d recommend? Give me a shout in the comments, if so!
