Over the weekend, I escaped from Chicago for 36 hours to spend the weekend with a few of my best girlfriends. There’s something about a (very) mini-vaca that leaves you feel refreshed, isn’t there?
Saturday morning, I realized I’d only packed multiple items of my favorite winter wardrobe staples: chunky knits, dark denim, cozy cotton vintage tees and a goes-with-everything pair of pumps. The only time I’ll ever check a bag is for Fashion Week (10+ pairs of shoes, easy), so simple, wear-anywhere travel style is important. Statement accessories are the easiest way to travel light and in style.
On this particular day, the girls and I were shopping for bridesmaid dresses… Not mine, if you needed clarification. Nude pumps are The Big Day footwear front-runner for now, so that’s why I threw on mine on my way out the door.
I consider myself a seasoned high heel’er (quite literally, I guess), so I didn’t think much of my shoe game that day despite a few inches of snow on the ground.
If you’re wondering whether or not I slipped and bit it, I’m not going to answer you. I will, however, share this:
*Head-to-toe: Kensie coat | Zara tee| DKNY pants c/o Macy’s | Boutique 9 pumps (similar) | 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel
Photos: Thanks, Katie!

Thanks, girlfriend! I think the Kensie jacket makes the look, don’t you? It’s otherwise just a simple black-jeans-and-tee outfit.

Haha I hope you didn’t fall, that would be a nas-tay bruise! But you are working those shoes in the snow gf!

Hey, snow be damned when it comes to a chic pair heels I say! However, despite this sentiment, I will admit, I have slipped a few times (maybe…), but who cares! Those shoes are aweeeeesome! I’m likely your chic and simple travel style!
