Classic (and Uncensored) T-shirt Style

Like my mother always told me, you can never have too many T-shirts…

Talk about a style statement. Is this what you meant, Mom?

I love getting dressed up in a fancy frock or mix of prints, but there’s no arguing that a classic T-shirt can be much more comfortable and chic. Especially for a spontaneous Sunday Funday (deets on what happened after this shoot here).

Jessica gifted me this t-shirt as a Welcome to New York gift, so I felt it was only right to style it by reaching for sequins. (We’re linking up today; her post is here!)

Against a neutrally dominated ensemble, my metallics — coupled with the gold hardware of my accessories — are an easy way to chic’ify an otherwise casual wardrobe staple. Thanks to a four-inch open-toe heel (come back, spring!), it’s hardly noticeable that I’m wearing a super-basic cotton tee. Don’t you think?

When it comes to t-shirt styling (and whether you prefer cropped, fitted, loose, etc.) you may be surprised at this wardrobe staple’s versatility — with the right styling. And, on that note, I’m definitely not sucking it in for you guys today… Oh well, you know I love me some Fat Sunday. Wink.

Lastly, don’t forget: Jess is styling her NYFC tee today, too, so be sure you check out her post! Here’s a sneak peek of her look:
