Changes

Hi, there! No, don’t worry. You’re in the right place… Welcome to the new corals + cognacs!

I’ve been alluding to a few impending changes for some time now, and they’re here at last.

Knowing that my new site would be live this morning rendered sleep nearly impossible last night, so its a good thing I had episodes of Nashville, Revenge and Scandal to catch up on.

For the past few months, I’ve been working with the talented Hanna of gad•a•bout, who helped me build and execute an entirely new vision for my site’s design and development. I’m thrilled with the final result and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Hanna and I went back-and-forth about my logo (she can attest to the fact that I’m a real Type-A Pain in the Ass); but ultimately, we decided to keep it very basic. Reason being, the website’s focus is even more so on the content: Bright photos, vibrant personal style and hilarious anecdotes about life in New York City.

When it came down to it, an organized layout, simple script and nearly monochromatic color scheme felt just right.

It’s pretty hard to boil your own digital aesthetic down to the basics, but I think the new site is truly a reflection of my vision for corals + cognacs: Clean, modern and easy to navigate. No flashy logo, no sponsor-heavy side-bar. Just me, my photos, my style and my story (and you, of course).

Thank you so much, Hanna. Mainly, for putting up with my overtly Type-A mannerisms. I couldn’t have done this without your endless creativity and keen eye for design.

Lastly, I wanted to wrap up today’s post with a quick thank you for your readership and ongoing support of corals + cognacs. Whether you’ve been around a while (it’s been so lovely getting to know you and your sites) or you’re new’ish to the community, I’m so thankful you’ve come along for the ride.
