Runway Recap: Rag & Bone F/W 2012
Who: Rag & Bone designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville drew on the cultures of England and India as the apparent inspiration for their fall 2012 collection.
What: To me, this collection was a lesson in layering. Each look felt modern, luxe and textured without going overboard. Blanket stripes, printed dresses, tapestry-style brocades and asymmetric wrap skirts smartly piled atop one another on models who gracefully stomped down the industrial-themed runway at Pier 57. While there were many to covet, the most tempting (and seasonally-appropriate) pieces were the belted blanket coats and wraps. And, of course, the show-stopping shoes: Shiny, bold boots with thick wooden soles.
How:
Shop the look: Bank Fashion Wal G poncho, Topshop aztec leggings, Steve Madden Cablee boots
Shop the look: La Garconne sweater, A.L.C Kate striped woolen tunic, Modcloth Great to See You dress,
Modcloth Walk Star Bootie, Cambridge Satchel Company bag

Did you know that Wainwright’s wife gave birth to their third baby the morning of the show? (It’s a girl!) She let him leave the hospital for the menswear show at noon! Whatta day, huh?
