Ink Splatter

When snow is absent from the weather forecast, I feel an obligation to take advantage and bust out a pair of statement pumps.

I’m not sure whether or not you also gauge the success of your outfit on how often you catch passers-by staring at your kicks, but, well, someone actually walked up to me and said my shoes “really hurt his eyes,” to which I obviously said “thank you!”

This particular ensemble is one of my favorites from the tail-end of Fashion Week. It was also the best non-fashion centric afternoon my life partner Jessica and I spent together all week. Do you celebrate Fat Sunday, too?

You’ve likely seen me in these United Nude shoes before, so you know I love to rock them non-stop, despite the season. In fact, I tend to pair them with this open-back BCBG jacket on the regular — prior to this get-up, it was most often with a chiffon maxi or colorful pair of pants.

Jessica borrowed it a few days prior; check out how she styled it here.

Today’s my first day of work in NYC, wish me luck! I hope your week kicks off to a great start, too.

  1. Hallie, while I’ve seen these incredible shoes in several posts already, every time I see them it’s like it’s the very first time! They are ridiculously awesome! I agree - no matter WHAT the season, I’d find a way to wear them as much as possible too! Oh, as far as “Fat Sunday” goes - come on, who doesn’t celebrate? 😉

    xo, Stephanie :)
