White Hot

Last night, a few girlfriends and I ventured to The Spotted Pig in West Village.

We waited nearly two hours for a table, but when the people watching is that good and the drinks are even better, you hardly notice the clock. Much of that time was actually spent trying to not stare down fashion maven Chloe Sevigny dining right next to us. (She was actually rolling a cigarette — and looked chic as hell doing it — but dining sounds better, doesn’t it?)

I freakin’ love New York.

Although, it has become painfully transpar… — err, apparent — that what I’ve sacrificed in moving here is a summer tan. Oh well. My 40-year-old-self will probably thank me for that anyhow.

It probably doesn’t help that I’ve been in the mood for monochromatic with the turn of the seasons — especially within the theme of minimalism. And it doesn’t seem as though that mindset is receding anytime soon. How do you keep your black-and-white looks fresh and fun?

  1. Haven’t you found a good lying out spot yet? Central Park, Bryant Park, roofdecks of friends? There’s this really great patio by my apartment that even has lounge chairs :)

    • I actually have a sundeck in my apartment complex, but I am NEVER HOME! Haha. It’s on my list to get to Sheep’s Meadow in Central Park sometime in the near future…

Thanks for the tip, girl! What ‘hood are you in?

  2. Girl, I still can’t get over the awesomeness that is THOSE SHOES! #shoeporn at it’s best! I love how you’ve styled this black/white look - simple and chic. I am loving the black/white trend for fall and this look is a great inspiration! :)
