On the final day of Fashion Week (… Day 6?), I was far too tired, hungover and laundry-deprived to coordinate a thoughtfully-layered, pulled-together outfit. Thus, a dress and booties would have to suffice. Shopbop sale to the rescue!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Fashion Week, it’s this: Attending a slew of runway shows right-in-a-row can seriously impair one’s street-style judgement, causing one to ignore the weather and overdress (ahem), layer things that shouldn’t be layered, etc.

In times like these, I’ve found it’s a lot easier to go the simple style route and let your outfit do the work for you. A detailed statement dress and a handbag that carries everything but the kitchen sink usually does the trick.

  1. Lovely dress! Loving the details in the layers! And those booties look designer - I never would have guessed they’re from Aldo! What a great find!

    Lovely as always Hallie! :)

  2. OMG I love this dress and love even more that it comes in black, but it’s sold out in my size :(

  3. Love that dress! It looks amazing on you! And those booties are fabulous. Although I love mixing and matching and styling, there is something so perfect about a gorgeous dress and great shoes!

  4. No thoughtful layers needed! This dress has a ton of visual and textured layers that it is interesting all by itself! I always die over the color of that bag- it is THE perfect plum. Love the combo.
