Hi, nice to meet you.

FAQ //LOCATION: New York, New York •BY WAY OF: The Midwest (Cleveland/Chicago) •HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE? Attainable, trendy and fun. I’m constantly wearing unexpected pairings – like statement pumps and a graphic tee. •FAVORITE ITEM IN YOUR CLOSET? The vintage Gucci clutch I thrifted for $40. •ANY OBSESSIONS? I like my coffee black, my heels high and my martinis dirty. •GUILTY PLEASURES? Complex carbohydrates and shoe shopping -- both in excess. (And SoulCycle, as a result.)
ARE YOU A FULL-TIME BLOGGER? No, I work as a Development Manager and Contributing Editor at Glam.com. •WHY DID YOU START YOUR BLOG? I've spent nearly seven years on the corporate grind, where sartorial humor and an expertly crafted color-block can get lost in the boardroom. As a result, I decided to create a blog -- a space where I’d hoped my writing, styling and excessive shoe collection would be better comprehended. •WHAT’S IT ABOUT? Living stylish and spontaneously in New York City – and beyond. I aim to inspire others to have fun with fashion and to live lightheartedly •HOW’D YOU THINK OF THE NAME? To be honest, the name just came to me. I’m a big color-blocker and a sucker for alliteration in writing. It just fit. •WHAT’S THE CORRECT WAY TO WRITE IT? corals + cognacs.
HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE IT? corals and cone-yaks. •WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU USE? A Canon T3i with a 50mm f/1.4 lens. •DON’T YOU FEEL WEIRD TAKING PHOTOS OF YOURSELF? Absolutely. Everyone looks at me like I’m insane – especially when it’s cold. Wouldn’t you? •DO YOU WORK WITH ADVERTISERS/SPONSORS? Yep! Shoot me an e-mail and let’s talk. •HOW ELSE CAN WE KEEP IN TOUCH? On Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
It’s Day Two of our giveaway week (here’s Day One, if you missed it)and today, I’m partnering with one of my absolute favorite handbag brands… Any guesses?
It’s Lo & Sons. Yay! Which you already knew if you read the title of today’s post. Do people still read titles?
I digress… Today, it’s all about Lo & Sons, which is a line of awesome handbags created for ladies (and gents) living modern lifestyles. (That’s us!) You’ve undoubtedly seen me carrying a few styles here on the blog, and they’ve graciously agreed to gift one lucky winner a bag of their choice.
It’s well-designed, thoughtfully constructed and made of lightweight material. I use mine for traveling and long days alike. It has, like, 10 pockets, and it fits my laptop, a spare pair of flats (Tieks, obviously) and anything else I might need to survive an 18-hour workday.
The best part is that it’s waterproof — so there’s no worry about your laptop getting wet when it’s raining (as it has been here all week). It’s durable, too.
QUICK STORY!
Jess and I were at Madison Square Garden for an NCAA tournament last night, and some drunk college boy literally tripped over and onto our bags, spilling his beer everywhere. Like I said, though — waterproof/Budweiser-proof — so no harm, no foul. (See what I did there? #SPORTS)
In addition, the OMG (and the OG) have zippered pockets that allow them to fit securely over the handle of your suitcase for travel.
If bigger bags aren’t your style (or you’re one to keep shopping; I know I am!), Carly just blogged about the newest bag to the Lo & Sons family — The Pearl. It’s a cute little cross-body that’s perfect for compartmentalizing.
LO & SONS: THE CLAREMONT
Lastly, the Claremont. I carried this chic cross-body camera bag for the majority of my trip to Paris this year. It’s great for keeping your DSLR/camera/lenses safe in your suitcase, too.
It has internal padding designed to protect your camera, an adjustable cross-body strap and two front pockets for memory cards. You’d never guess this was a camera bag, would you?
A Lo and Songs bag has been on my wish list forever! Love them all! (Seriously, one of each please). The OMG seems ideal, and you’re right, I never would have guessed the Claremont was a camera bag! Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
I just learned about this company and these bags and if I had to choose I would choose the Claremont if not the OMG would definitely come in second. I especially love that these don’t look like your average black, boring, bulky, camera bags. I love their style and gorgeous colors. Also I love that they’d keep my camera safe and that its waterproof. This modern bag is simply stunning!
All of those bags look amazing! It would be so difficult trying to pick one out! I am drawn to the OMG though because I have a lot of travels coming up and it sounds wonderful to use as a carry on.
Wow, those are some great bags! Thanks for the chance to make one my own!
I love your purple hat! SO cute.
