Marilyn Moment

This soft silk number has been the warm(ish) weather dress of my dreams, and for one simple reason…

… In and of itself, it’s an outfit made easy.

The drop-waist dress has definitely become an unexpected champion in my style arsenal this spring. (And yes, I know. It’s not the most figure-flattering frock — but we already talked about that.)

And, oh, real quick: If you’re a prints-loving type-of-gal, I found the exact same dress for nearly 80% off. You’re welcome!

More often than not, this eye-catching little number has been the answer to my “what-to-wear” question ever since it warmed up enough to embrace bare leg season. (YAAAAS!)

It’s one of those sleek, brilliantly structured styles that’s a definite day-or-night deal — genius with ankle booties, a pair of pumps (mine are Loeffler Randall) or a modern, military-style jacket. Perfect for any occasion, really — including an impromptu mid-week happy hour with your BFF….

Jess and I were just talking about this, but when will Summer Shandy be back on the shelves? I’m good with Blue Moon until then, but, you know — gimme dat summertime lemonade.

The dress. Back to the dress: The simple, swingy silhouette couldn’t be more comfortable — and, HELLO, it was practically made for happy hour and half-price appetizers.

My favorite part, of course, is the playfully positioned hem — which is even more fun to strut around in after two (all right, three) drinks… I’m a Marilyn moment waiting to happen.

Just living my best life, you know?

(And in case you missed my mentioning it above: I found the same style for nearly 80% off the retail price — in two colored patterns. I’d suggest sizing down!)

  1. I know! I was looking for summer shandy last night when I went to dinner with my family and had to get Blue Moon also! It’ll happen soon enough!

  2. Looks a lot better with the military jacket but still not worth the price when compared with the look. Surly you can find a dress that feels great that is also figure flattering.Wonder if you would have purchased it if you had to purchase it (i.e if it was not a c/o) I cant imagine you are suggesting to people that they pay a fortune to buy a dress that only looks ho-hum.

  3. You look adorable! I bought a military jacket like that last year and I can’t believe how often I wear it — I’m obsessed! I haven’t paired it often with dresses, but you’re making me think I should! So pretty and carefree.

    Always, Anita

  4. My boyfriend managed to get some Summer Shandy, and I have it sitting in my fridge, so it might be worth checking again. My favorite beer to drink during summer. Love the drop waist dress!

  5. Summer Shandy is here! Also, my cousin says she bought a GRAPEFRUIT shandy a couple weeks ago and loved it…but I have yet to find it for myself!
