Incorporating Color

As much as I love the laid-back look of jeans and a sweater, some days just call for a bit more glam.

Among my closet’s leading looks, this pretty skirt is at the fore-front for spicing up all of my basics. (I’ve recently worn it with a cape-like blazer and a sleeveless black turtleneck, too.)

I love an excuse to incorporate color into my otherwise typically all-black winter ensembles!

The statement fabric floats gracefully as you move (even if you move not so gracefully, as I tend to do), leaving your outfit to do much of the talking for you. A sartorial requirement for this freezing cold Monday morning, if I do say so myself… As is a carry-all black bucket bag.

(This vegan leather jacket is a dead-ringer for the real deal, too. I’ve pretty much convinced all of the SoulCycle studio managers to buy it in black — it’s under $100!)

 

At the moment, I’m en route to Mexico for a very quick trip south. I can’t wait to trade in snow for sand for a bit, but I already wish I could stay for more than two days! (You’re welcome to follow along on Instagram — I’ll do my best to keep the envy-inducing beach pics to a minimum.)
