How to Wear Suede This Spring

What a weekend, my friends! I realize it’s Tuesday, but I’m still reeling… Still reeling, you guys!

On Saturday afternoon, one of my BFFs got engaged (I posted about it on Instagram yesterday), so our entire crew spent the weekend finally executing a series of surprises for the bride-to-be.

Insanity!

I’ll try not to gush too much, but I keep telling my classes that the past weekend was so much f’ing fun that I actually feel like I’m the one who got engaged… Haha. And I’m not — I’m most certainly not.

At any rate, the deed was done in downtown Chicago along the riverwalk, which is one of my favorite spots in the entire city (and where these photos were taken).

The waterfront is undoubtedly one of Chicago’s best stretches when it’s nice outside — plus, it’s conveniently located directly across the street from one of the SoulCycle studios I teach at.

Aaaanywho…

This suede skirt has been one of my newer closet staples that’s really helped to seamlessly transition my style into the spring season. I love the rich look of the retro fabric, don’t you?

Suede has transformed into a rather season-less fabric (much like leather), and while the summer heat might be a bit much for the heavier material, Chicago’s (unfortunately consistent) cooler weather is pretty much made for it.

  1. Ah, sounds like the most fun weekend!! Engagements like that are so much fun and so special – exciting you got to be a part of it! Love the skirt – rocking it, per usual. Happy Tuesday!

  2. Congrats to your friend sistah! Love that. It’s seriously so much work, and so FUN. I was so excited and happy for my friend who recently got engaged, but also like, this is a lot of work I am good to not get engaged for a while - LOL. Normal response? Maybe?

Also for a question for your question of the week, I want to know what you think about the crazy increase in bloggers…as someone who has been blogging for a long time with a loyal following and brand you built yourself, how do you stay focused on you rather and not get distracted by all the blog noise out there?

Not sure if that’s like a negative question…LOL but I think about things like that for the OG’s like you! 🙂
