Stripes on Stripes

Is there anything better than a good wardrobe day? I’m talking about those mornings where you snooze (natch), get up, shower and are able to walk out the door in the first thing you pulled from your closet that day.

Winning.

In my opinion, no. (See shit-eating-grin and joy-filled face below.) But deliciously sweetened iced coffee from my favorite friendly face — a local New York street vendor — is up there.

This spring, I’ve been really focused on establishing a signature style. I haven’t quite nailed it, but I have found that there’s a been a few key pieces emerging from my closet in constant rotation:

  • Simple accessories, like walkable wedges and an oversized carry-all.
  • Everyday bottoms, such as dark skinny jeans and leggings you can pass off as pants.
  • Basic tops that tuck in or fly free — the kind that cover your ass (so you can wear leggings as pants).
  • A tailored statement blazer (or versatile denim jacket).
Any other suggestions?

  1. Love this! It is so rare that I’m able to have days when I can walk out in this first outfit I put on. You must have a wonderfully edited closet to be able to do that! The stripes looks great on you. Also loving those wedges! And my favorite iced coffee is from a street vendor too - they just always know how to make it perfectly, right?!

  2. Obsessed with this outfit! I especially love the blue suede shoes :)
Where is that place that has the “Delicious Crepes, Espresso…” sign? I swear I’ve seen it before, but I can’t put my finger on where in the city it actually is.

  3. A great pencil skirt, non-trendy statement necklace, and timeless shades ;)

  4. OK, I’m kind of obsessed with this (& your blues…I love that shade of blue!!). Using you as inspiration to mix prints and patterns more often :)

  5. I love how you’ve been able to refine your style. Those pieces you have sound like great additions to any wardrobe. I’ve found with blogging in general I’ve been able to realize my signature style even more. Lovely outfit. Those wedges (which I agree totally comfy and easy to walk in yet I think they also have a bit of sexiness to them) and your blazer are fabulous! Great outfit xo
