Corner Stories

I’ve been ragging on New York a bit as of late, but there are certain corners of the city that I’ve really come to love…

It took a long time, seemingly, but Manhattan and I have achieved a certain level of comfort and acceptance. (Seriously, it’s like we’re dating.)

I’m starting to think that we love/hate on each other because we speak the same language. We’re both chaotic, energized, vibrant, busy, hurried and — at times — noisy and every-so-slightly scary.

I’ve been better at being more mindful in general, but especially on my walks to-and-from in the city (back-story on that in this post).

As a result, I’ve started to notice that there are a lot of city street corners and buildings paint-splattered with memories — all of which help to romanticize this dirty, smelly, crowded city that I’ve come to call home… That all feel like mine.

Oh, New York. Some days, I can’t decide if I love to hate you or hate to love you…

On another (completely unrelated note), I’m wearing the tee again.

Can you blame me? I love it — especially when styled with a zipper-back pencil skirt (which is on sale over at Macy’s). And I love the homage it pays to my boyfriend, New York City. While my exact shirt is sold out, there’s another version on clearance over at Piperlime.

If you haven’t heard, Piperlime is shutting it’s doors (for good) next Thursday, so make sure you hit this sale while supplies last.

… I know. Tear! All sale items are already an extra 40% off — use the code SALE4SALE.

  1. Piperlime got me this morning with their sale email! :( At the very least, it’s motivating me more to take my blogging to the next level. That’s how it works, right? You immediately start getting money to pay for your shopping habit?

    …no?

  2. Yes! I completely agree with you about this city. I think people need to have a certain mind set to have a satisfying relationship with NYC (cause he def is a boyfriend/girlfriend). There are pros and cons to living anywhere especially here haha. Point of this rant, is that shirt is amazing and I will be on the hunt for it forever. x)

  3. Can you share your secret to tucking shirts in without bunching?? I’m short waisted and I always feel frumpy when I try to tuck shirts into skirts! But you always look great. Such a cute look!

What do you think?
