Cozy Cropped Knit

Every now-and-again, I can dress like a total a girly-girl. And personally, I hate to leave my pretty summer dresses behind simply because cold weather is on the way… Don’t you?

… And really, why should we? (This post may not resonate with you West Coasters quite yet — or ever — but trust; fall is well on its way over here.)

This BCBGMAXAZRIA maxi was a seasonal favorite during the tail-end of summer — worn most recently on a trip to the Hamptons. I found her rather late in the game (but on sale, no less!), so I’m just not ready to say sayonara quite yet.

I, for one, plan to wear my girly summer dresses well into the fall.

Of course, there are some obvious changes to make in order to do so, but you can easily “winterize” your outfits by adding ankle boots and layering on a cozy knit. Chunky sweaters add that immediate cool-factor (quite literally) to any ensemble, so you really can’t go wrong in stock-piling them for the season. (My two favorites of the moment are this one and this one.)

There’s another Fashion Week recap on the horizon (did you find yesterday’s post helpful?) but, damn — they take some time to write. Perhaps this next one is taking a bit because Day 2 ended with — uh — dancing on couches at 4 a.m.? We’ll see…

  1. Thanks for this post! Great way to transition into Fall while still getting wear out of those summer essentials! Also a great way to just style something differently. You look awesome!

  2. Love the outfit Hallie! Although, I’m quite the opposite. I’m so excited to pack away my summer clothes and pull out my fall outfits (admittedly, a bit too early, seeing as I’ve been pretty warm in my boots and scarves lately #wishfulthinking). You have to check out Banana Republic! They have so many amazing cropped sweaters this year (like the textured crop pullover that I’ve been living in).
