Girly Girl

While I wouldn’t consider myself a “girly girl,” you know I’m not one to sky away from a kaleidoscope of color.

Admittedly, I’ve been obsessed with this full-on-floral silhouette all season. Like, one of the Piperlime store associates in SoHo probably wanted to slap me with a retail restraining order.

But to make a long story short: It was a situation similar to The 3.1 Phillip Lim boots, wherein I stalked and stalked and stalked until the item finally went on major mark-down. Win! It’s sold out on Piperlime, but still available in a few sizes here for 50% off.

Moving on from August traditionally signals the time of year to put your floral frocks away… But we’re all for fashion rule-breaking ’round here, aren’t we?

There’s nothing like a little flower-power vibe to bring a lighthearted touch to your workweek wardrobe — and with the right styling, your floral prints and patterns are totally wearable year-round.

For cooler months, stick with thicker textures in a saturated palette of fall’s richest hues.

I like to find a balance between my favorite feminine pieces and ensure they’re styled in a way that’s modern and oh-so-slightly unexpected, natch. (Today, that element came in the fact that I was “dressed like a total girl,” as my photographer Lydia worded it.)

As the temperatures continue to dip, I’ll probably pair my favorite free-flowing frock with my go-to black sweater, fleece-lined tights and matching ankle booties — as well as a leather jacket that hits at the hip.
