Iconic

I often joke about my boobs.

Mainly, how outdoor runs are approached with caution and that high school track was a particularly turbulent time for me… I think at one point there was duct tape involved.

Ah, nostalgia.

TMI on a Monday, I know — I hope you’ve had coffee.

On the notion of boobs, October is a big month for breast cancer awareness — a cause that’s very near-and-dear to me. And all jokes aside, I’m really excited to tell you the story behind this Tommy Hilfiger handbag today.

THE CAMPAIGN // This month, Tommy Hilfiger announced a new limited-edition handbag in annual support of the Breast Health International (BHI) foundation, a leading non-profit that works to advance breast cancer research and treatment.

The brand has collaborated with the BHI for seven consecutive years, and a portion of the proceeds from each bag sold ($100!) are donated directly to BHI. Amazing, right?

The initiative enables shoppers like us to support breast cancer awareness, research and patient care in a powerful (and stylish) way. The theme of this year’s campaign is a little jump makes a big difference, a concept that’s further articulated below.

Having the chance to play a role in this year’s campaign means a lot to me, as I’ve seen first-hand the challenges that breast cancer can present. You can make a jump, too, by buying a bag (if your funds allow, of course), snapping a slow-motion selfie or simply sharing the campaign on social.

THE BAG // As far as the actual limited-edition handbag goes, it’s made of super-soft Italian pebbled leather in a dreamy midnight blue color. I love the all-American detailing of the cherry-red panels and white hangtag accent, too.

The interior has, like, a million pockets — there’s a central divider with a zippered pouch and two exterior pockets, making the bag highly functional. It’s bound to be my new travel friend, as it fits my laptop, iPad and Canon camera, among other things.

For today’s look, I decided to keep my outfit simple to mirror Tommy Hilfger’s iconic aesthetic. A combination of stripes, denim and statement red felt like a suitable partner to pair with such an all-American brand.

And lastly, I know you’re going to ask about the shoes, so here’s a bit of detail: They’re alice + olivia. I found them for 50% off at Nordstrom awhile back, and I typically style them with boyfriend jeans, more of which you can see here and here. They’re sold out (sorry!), but here is a similar style.
