Skinny Jeans

You know the days when you’re too lazy, tired or (fill in the blank) to squeeze into your skinny jeans?

I call them Mondays — and most days — but at any rate, I’ve finally found our go-to pair for looking cool and staying comfortable.

But I’ll get to that…

The week leading up to Christmas is always kind of a shitshow, no? (Seriously, where does the time go?)

Even for the most seasoned of shoppers, gift-buying during the holidays can be a bit… Intense.

If you’re anything like me, we’re the type of girls who leave their holiday gift shopping until the very last-minute. As a result, I’m usually spending the days leading up to Christmas running around the city, fending off crowds and paying an arm-and-a-leg in overnight shipping costs.

(And while we’re on the subject, an FYI: Nordstrom and Zappos both have super-fast, free shipping and returns — with guaranteed delivery by Christmas.)

On a recent holiday dash around the city, I stopped into Old Navy to pick up a new pair of their activewear pants/compression leggings. (I wore them last week — they’re my favorite for indoor cycling and outdoor running alike!) I left with a puffer vest, a few flannel pop-overs and a pair of ON’s Rockstar jeans.

We’ve known this and we’ve talked about it, but Old Navy is, quite simply, killing it. But, guys — how am I so late to the game that is the Old Navy Denim Fan Club?

I honestly haven’t taken these off since, which you’ll note in the next few weeks’ of outfit posts.

My favorite pair (this darker hue) seems to slenderize every body type and easily adds a dash of laid-back luxe to any look… Or every look, I suppose, in my case.

The best part is that they don’t fit like starchy denim, but they also don’t look like painted-on leggings. Their stretchy style makes them ideal for holiday travel, too, which I have a lot of coming up here in the next few weeks.

More on that to come — for now, I’ve got to finish shopping!

  1. This is the truth! I was late to the party as well and have spent HUNDREDS of dollars on jeans, that ALWAYS had to be altered. Then I finally tried a pair of Rockstar jeans that fit perfectly right off the hanger! Love. Them.

  2. We’re twins! I have that plaid popover, love it!
I like seeing how you styled it! So cute! I live in Florida
it’s not cold enough for all those layers, but I’m thinking I
    Need a red puffer vest!
    Thx, for the inspiration!

  3. Glad to hear I’m not the only one who has done zero shopping yet! I really don’t understand where this entire month has gone, but oh well! I’ve never tried Old Navy denim, but am intrigued now after seeing how good it looks on you!
