Ladylike Luxe

I’m not sure why, but I’m all about a lady-like look as of late.

Perhaps it’s because I have limited patience when it comes to shopping. Anyone else with me on this?

I found this striped skirt on major mark-down last week and I had to have it. End of story. In fact, I practically wore it out of the store.

It reminds me of so many of the Tibi midi skirts I love, but for a fraction of the cost.

Thankfully, I find that midi skirts defy the seasonal style calendar. They’re romantic, feminine and oh-so-chic…ly unexpected for winter.

I use the term “winter” lightly, as the temperature has ranged from 40-60 degrees over the past week or so. (And there’s the fact that I’m in California at the moment.)

No complaints, here — I’m prolonging tights season as long as humanly possible. Doesn’t anyone else’s ass itch when you sit in them all day? I hate it!

I digress… Back to discussing the day’s ensemble:

To give my otherwise elegant look a bit of an edge, I added my favorite faux leather jacket and a few pieces from Charming Charlie’s latest Rock Luxe collection — namely, a boxy watch, long-and-linear earrings, and metallic box clutch.

I’ve shopped at Charming Charlie a few times this year (remember that ombré scarf?), and I particularly liked this collection — it’s perfect for adding modern, minimalist polish to your otherwise everyday looks.

New Year’s Eve is sneaking right on up, huh? Not sure where this month (year) has gone, but I’m looking forward to the refreshing feel of a New Year and a clean slate.
