Happy Friday!

Let’s kick it off with this week’s peaks & pits (and as always, feel free to share your own in the comments below):

Peaks & Pits, Aug. 7, 2015

Peak: I’ve gotten back into fiction reading lately (currently: The Girl on the Train), and I’ve really enjoyed curling up with a good book instead of staring at my laptop a few nights each week. What are you reading?

Pit: That Lolla recovery, man. (Although the weekend made it well worth it!)

Lastly, my pal Mackenzie (blogger at Design Darling) is celebrating her birthday this weekend! She’s offering 20% off everything in her e-boutique with code PARTYTIME — including the pineapple matches and infamous Jonathan Adler zebra dish. I just purchased this white tray for my coffee table. Happy birthday, MH!

  1. Love that Instagram article but your commentary is spot-on. There are so many people obsessed with getting likes on instagram — to the point where they employ bots to go around and like people’s photos on behalf of their account. It’s absurd and what’s even more bizarre is those are the people charging $300/hr for their “social media expertise”… so nuts!

And I’m totally taking a Soul Cycle class with you after next week (once I regain control of my schedule) — I expect a very necessary ass kicking!

  2. Get on Goodreads to track your books! It’s addicting, and encouraging. I have a bad habit of getting into a TV show I never watched and doing that at night instead of reading (I always read on the subway home at night, though) but since finishing The Tudors about a month ago I’ve put off starting anything new and instead am reading each night before bed. Also, because I am behind on my challenge (to myself) to read a book a week this year—but goodreads keeps me motivated and helps me find new things to read! Hope you’re enjoying The Girl on the Train—a few friends & I read it for a book club earlier this year and had some great discussions.
