I was contemplating these, but ended up not getting them because let’s be honest–I can’t walk in heels. I’m sad to hear they don’t stay on well. That’s a bummer!
Totally, but hey, at least you saved yourself $30!
I was also thinking about getting the shoes, but am glad now I didn’t! I already look like a baby deer learning to walk when I wear heels, so I don’t think those would do me any favors! The Steve Madden Realove’s are gorgeous, and pretty reasonably priced! Love your Vince skirt, by the way
OMG a baby deer - I just laughed out loud. SUCH a good reference! Good to know about the Steve Madden’s - I’ll have to check them out! Thanks, Olivia.
I haven’t worn mine out yet (too cold in Chicago) but I think the other trick is to move strap holder (have no idea what that’s called - the little circle of leather/pleather) to go around the clasp. The other option is to take them to a cobbler and have a new closure put on. I think that’s what I’m going to do.
When I saw these @ Target, I thought of you, so I’m glad to see you have them. I love that you paired them w/red!
Those colors look so good on you! Totally pop on your skin tones! Gorgeous! : )

Aw, thanks! Hopefully summer comes around this year… I could really use a tan. Ha.
I totally want to know how you manage peep toe shoes/sandals. Am I the only one who ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS gets blisters on her big toe? I haven’t bought open toe heels in ages because of it, and there are so many cute options I want to slip my feet into, like these nude Vince Camuto babies I wore for like 15 minutes in the store trying to convince myself they’d be fine. Sigh. Maybe someday I’ll find a solution!
My feet have to STAY when I’m wearing strappy sandals. Meaning, there can’t be any glide or else I’ll get blisters too.
Hmmm, maybe you need fashion tape on the inside of that strap? It sounds like they’re just rubbing your feet the wrong way. I’ll see if I can find something and shoot you an e-mail, if so!
i really wanted to get those heels…but with all the negative reviews, i shyed away!
a peek of chic
Smart lady, Cheryl. I purchased them right away and given the thoughts above, they’re just a pretty little decoration in my wall divider now, haha. I’ve since justified it as buying really pretty art.
I bought these in black from target and returned for the exact reasons you are describing!!! What a bummer.
Hey pretty! You look great - love the color combo! I heard that if you connect the clasp and then turn it so it goes inside that loop at the back, near your ankle - it will stay connected. Hope that helps because those shoes are gorgie!!

Those damn straps!! So glad you finally figured out a staying fix. It truly took a (two person) army to keep them on that night!
OOOhhh.. Great tip about the straps. I was just over the shoes. Almost considered giving them away. Glad I hadnt.

i like your honesty!! i do find that is often the trouble with the oh-so-cute/trendy target apparel/shoes. kudos for rocking heels at the game!

Ok, so I am finally getting around to wearing my neon yellow/green Prabal Gurung ankle strap shoes and I was ready to throw them in the garbage because of my EXTREME annoyance with the clasp. In a last dicth effort, I looked on-line to see if anyone else had an issue with these and if they had a solution. With your tip on turning the ankle strap around you saved these shoes from the City Dump.
So happy to hear that, Meg! I’m with you - mine sit on a counter as “art” for the most part, but that trick does help to salvage. Glad you found it useful!

Thank you sooooooooo much for this post I was getting ready to panic when these gorgeous sandals wouldn’t stay on my feet!!
Thanks
I have this pair in black and had this issue. I used the little leather strap to wrap around the buckle- but this is only a stop-gap solution! It is so difficult to move the strap onto the buckle and one of the little straps just broke recently. I’m definitely going to try turning the buckles inward- but I might also consider using black electrical tape….
Hey, it blends in with the black leather!
Yes, it works but only for a short term — electrical tape sounds like a great solution! : )
