Quilted

As much as I hate to admit it, winter weather has officially descended upon New York City.

As of, like, a week ago. And especially so on Saturday, when Manhattan was hit with a snowstorm that lasted from sun-up to well beyond sun-down.

I spent the majority of my afternoon with windburn, store-hopping and Christmas shopping in Soho. If anyone is planning to the same thing today (whether you’re in New York or not), I’d suggest wear shoes with traction. I tend to learn the hard way, and well, let’s just say my ass is bruised.

Currently, though, I’m freezing. Literally — as I type. I’m so cold that I have my Zara scarf/blanket cocooned around my legs and my polka dot pom hat on.

Okay, I’m being slightly dramatic. And bratty. I’m not really that cold, but you know what I mean. Gone are the days of tossing on a cute quilted jacket — like the one I’m wearing — and running out the door. I guess I’d better get used to pale skin and puffer jacket chic! For the next week, that is… (Deets on that here.)

I’ll be taking the winter weather transition in baby step strides, starting with this jacket from Target.

  1. I’m pretty much in denial about winter as well… what is all that snow doing out there? I want to wear heels and light jackets too!

Guess we will just have to get over it, and wait it out.
