L’Wren Scott’s collection with Banana Republic might be flying under your radar, but I’m here to do the dirty work and tell you that it’s a collection worth shouting about.

(And admittedly, you guys, I was more excited for this duo than I was Phillip Lim for Target!)

A collaboration of this scale was a first for L’Wren Scott. Perhaps that explains my sentiment above?

The 50-piece collection — which combines the designer’s sophisticated knack for glamour and the retail brand’s relaxed aesthetic — features uber-femme separates in crisp white, pops of pink, mulberry and cherry red.

… None of which you see here, because it was all ’bout the All Black Err’thang today.

Having become more and more of a New York’er in my nearly-been-a-year here, I’ve learned that an all-black ensemble is the city dweller’s signature style.

That said, this crackle blazer is my new go-to, as it gives an edge to my basic blacks and makes pulling off a dark-tone monochromatic look oh-so-simple.

L’wren Scott understands what a woman wants to wear. And by that, I obviously mean a few cute pieces that can be seamlessly worn together for a look that screams “casual luxe” but that’s really “I woke up like dis.” And not in a Beyonce kind-of-way… You know me.

From the L’Wren Scott x Banana Republic collection, I also snagged the printed bow blouse and beaded lip bag, which I’ll be styling here early next week.

  4. One of my favorite looks from you ever! I LOVE the pop of color of the bag to your all black ensemble! And it might be a small detail, but I’m loving the curved hem of the blouse with the blazer - it really gives the look a casual edge! And that tassel necklace? Love! Gorgeous as always Hallie!
